繊維素材を使ったものづくりは、人間が生きることに深く根ざしたものづくりです。テキスタイルを研究する事は、作ったその人を読み解く事でもあり、地域性を読み解くことでもあり、時代性を読み解く事でもあります。私はこのテキスタイルという素材を深く考察することは、私達人類が「この先どのような未来を描けば良いか」ということを気づかせてくれる、重要な要素の一つだと考えています。
Making something using textile materials is deeply rooted in human life. I would say that to study textiles means understanding the person who made it, understanding the regionality, and understanding the trend of the time. I think that considering this material called textile deeply is one of the important factors that make us as human beings aware of “what kind of future we should draw from now”.
